Programme of Events
Wednesday 24th December 2008
Your house party begins from midday when you arrive. Relax and unwind in front of the log fire, enjoying a traditional Lancashire cream tea. You may want to head into Lancaster for some last minute Christmas shopping, or just stay indoors relaxing in our Leisure Complex.
Tim Bell, General Manager, and his team, invite you to the evening celebrations with a champagne and canapé reception, where you will have the opportunity to meet your hosts and welcome friends, old and new. The magic of the Carol singers sets the festive mood and then we'll take you through to your sumptuous candlelit dinner in the Restaurant. The local parish churches welcome the community and visitors alike for midnight mass. Mulled wine with mince pies will await your return to the hotel.
NB. Please note that arrangements for midnight mass should be made on an individual basis. Details of various local churches, and directions, are available from reception.
Christmas Day - Thursday 25th December 2008
A Very Merry Christmas will begin at breakfast time when Father Christmas has promised once again to take time out from his busy schedule and make an appearance, bearing gifts for all. After you’ve opened all your presents, join us for a glass of champagne in front of the fire before settling down to our traditional six-course Christmas Luncheon. Following this, the afternoon is yours to relax. Tonight's celebrations continue with a light but sumptuous buffet for your dining pleasure. The evening is relaxed and informal with games and quizzes for all the family.
Boxing Day - Friday 26th December 2008
A hearty brunch will be served all morning. For the afternoon, we'll be taking you for a specially guided tour of Lancaster Castle, regarded as one of the finest castles in Lancashire and steeped in local and national history. Back to the hotel for afternoon tea, before we whisk you off to the Pantomime. You return to the hotel for dinner, then it's an evening of fun with the sport of kings as we invite you to join us for a "Grand Night at the Races" complete with Tote desk, Winners enclosure and the Betting Shop with superb prizes as always for the best (or luckiest) gamblers.

A celebration of fine food and wine, music and dancing with fun and laughter, our 3-Night New Year Hogmanay House Party is an occasion not to be missed. And for those who can only join us for New Year’s Eve, this year we once again have a choice of special one-night only packages.

Arrive at your leisure from midday onwards when, after settling in, traditional Lancashire cream teas will be served in front of our log fires. We start our celebration with dinner served in our AA award-winning Restaurant. Then we have an evening of fun with the sport of kings as we invite you to join us for a "Grand Night at the Races" complete with Tote desk, Winners enclosure and the Betting Shop with superb prizes as always for the best (or luckiest) gamblers.
New Year’s Eve - Wednesday 31st December 2008
Have a leisurely morning after breakfast, with the opportunity to take part in our Prize Treasure Hunt. You may want to explore the historic city of Lancaster or take a drive into the surrounding countryside. Dress this evening is formal, as your Hogmanay House Party really begins. Tim Bell, General Manager, and his team invite you to our champagne & canapé reception where you will have the opportunity to meet your hosts and welcome friends old and new, before enjoying our "Hogmanay" five-course gala dinner, inclusive of a bottle of house wine per couple served in our new Bowland Suite. The entertainment starts straight away with our resident DJ who will raise the tempo and count down the last moments of 2008 and welcome in 2009 with the enchanting sounds of the pipes, and a glass of champagne. A late supper of Stovies and Oatcakes will be served, as the celebrations continue until the “wee sma’ hours”.
New Year’s Day - Thursday 1st January 2009
Happy New Year! No need to rush down today as a leisurely brunch will be served all morning. It’s a gentle pace today with Parlour games available throughout the afternoon. The Leisure Complex will be open for a dip in the outside hot-tub or a gentle swim. Your Host Tim, invites you for a round-the-world wine tasting later in the afternoon. The evening starts with a cocktail in front of the fire before a 3-course dinner in the Restaurant. Our ever popular pub quiz with yet more prizes concludes the evening.

The Sandpiper Leisure Complex will be open all day so you can relax in the recently extended facilities which include Sauna, Steam-Room, Heated indoor pool and even an outside Hot Tub! Tonight you will be joining our 3-Night New Year guests in the Bowland Suite for entertainment as detailed above.

New Year Cabaret Night in the Dalton Suite - 31st December 2008
Arrive at your leisure from midday onwards. You may want to take this opportunity to explore the historic city of Lancaster, take a drive into the local countryside or simply relax in our Sandpiper Leisure Club.
Our champagne and canapé reception will give you the opportunity to meet your hosts and welcome friends old and new, before enjoying our very special 6-course Gala Dinner, inclusive of a bottle of house wine per couple served in the Dalton Suite. Following Dinner, its Show Time with our Professional Cabaret artiste performing classic sounds from the Soul & Motown era, raising the party atmosphere before we hand over to the resident DJ who will keep us dancing through into the start of 2009.
On New Year ’s Day, there’s no need to rush down too early as a leisurely brunch will be served all morning. After brunch, we say farewell and we hope to see you again next year.

Our 1-night Traditional Hogmanay package commencing 31st December, fully inclusive of full Lancashire cream tea on arrival, all meals and entertainment as detailed, costs £185 per person.
Our 1-night New Year Cabaret Night commencing 31st December, fully inclusive of all meals and entertainment as detailed, costs £165 per person. Minimum table size 8 persons. Smaller parties may be asked to join other tables.

Terms & Conditions
Booking & Deposits
For more information, or to book your Christmas or New Year Holiday, please telephone us. To secure your holiday, a non-refundable deposit of £100 per adult is required at the time of booking. This can be made by simply quoting a credit card number and details, or by sending a cheque which must be received within 7 days of the booking being made. Full payment of the outstanding balance is required 6 weeks prior to your stay.
